Who is Mark Carney?
Carney is 59 years old. He was born on March 16, 1965 in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Mark Carney is a renowned Canadian economic expert, known for making significant contributions in the field of central banking and global financial stability.
After helping Canada deal with the worst effects of the 2008 financial crisis, he was recruited to become the first non-British person to run the Bank of England since it was founded in 1694.
Carney is a former Goldman Sachs executive. He has no experience in politics. The Canadian economist has also served as the 8th Governor of the Bank of Canada from 2008 to 2013. Mark Carney completed his graduation in economics from Hardward University in 1988. He also holds a Master Degree in Oxford University and held various roles before joining the Bank of Canada as a Deputy Governor.
